Jennifer “Jen” Hahn

MA, LPCC

Welcome! I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a generalist with a focus on helping people navigate trauma and life’s many stressors.

Sometimes the memories we carry are tangled with sadness, shame, or pain. Even when part of us knows we have worth, other parts can hold on to deep feelings of invisibility, failure, or not being enough. It can feel like our mind is at odds with itself — like there’s chaos inside or we’re not fully in control.

My role is to walk alongside you as you begin to make sense of that chaos. I’ll welcome every part of you into the room, offer encouragement, and help you reconnect with the courage, compassion, and calm that have been within you all along.

How I work

My goal is to offer therapy that truly fits you. Above all, I want you to feel safe, seen, heard, and valued in our work together. I believe that genuine connection is at the heart of healing — when you feel understood and supported, you can explore yourself and your world with curiosity, honesty, and self-compassion. We’ll collaborate as partners to decide what direction feels right and move at a pace that feels safe and empowering for you.

I’m a lifelong learner, always deepening my skills and exploring new ways to help people heal. I draw from specialized trauma treatments like EMDR and parts work, and I continually integrate new approaches as I learn them. My aim is to give you the most effective, up-to-date care possible — so that together, we can help you move forward with greater clarity, strength, and ease.

About me

Two hands holding a bouquet of pink, yellow, and white flowers arranged in the shape of a heart, with small red and pink decorative stones on a light pink background.

I am a white cis-woman she/her in my late 30s — mom to a hilarious and spunky little kid and spouse to a Minnesota-Scandinavian cis-man. Though I’ve made my home here in Minnesota, my roots are in poor white middle America. That background shapes how I understand resilience, belonging, and the larger systems that influence our stories — all of which inform the way I show up with clients: grounded, curious, and open-hearted.

I’m a Michigan Wolverine first and a Minnesota Golden Gopher second, a pet parent (2 shih-tzu mixes + 1 cat), and a gardener and hiker who hates bugs and is an inside-cat at heart.

I’m an INTJ by nature — someone who loves patterns, big-picture thinking, and honest conversations. I can be a bit of a challenger and activator, always drawn to growth and what’s possible. I value authenticity and directness, and I try to bring both warmth and honesty into the work I do with clients.

Why the rooster?

Do you recall the giant blue rooster statue at the Walker Art Center sculpture garden in Minneapolis by the German artist Katharina Fritsch? It’s title is Hahn/Cock, pun intended. Hahn, my married name, and means cock in German.
